About my new ‘Upwards’ series…
This series began as I worked my way through some frustrations. Among many things, the pandemic has created feelings of isolation and hopelessness, and I wanted to reflect on hope. Looking upwards is a gesture of questioning, searching and also hope. The pieces are exaggerated to represent an attachment to the here and now, large on the bottom, grounded in reality, and as they move upwards they simplify and elongate to reach for new possibilities. I have to believe in horizons. The latest pieces in this series are of couples – rejoicing in the most precious of things, human connection. Hugging, holding, loving, understanding.
More to come, I’m not done yet! ~ Elaine
These pieces average 16″-20″ in height. Please email Elaine for prices and more information!
